Life Resumé Update:

I would like to share my program “Life Resumé Update” with your group. The term life resumé update comes from what I have told my family and friends for years. I tell them to never miss an opportunity to update your Life Resumé voluntarily because life has a funny way of updating it automatically for you. The more you update it voluntarily the better prepared you are for the unsolicited automatic updates.

The items I cover will be from life, family and work experiences. It is amazing but my personal “Life Resumé” from the eleven years in Human Resources seems to have thousands of more pages than my other thirty-nine years of life combined.

--------------------------------------------------
Length of Program-45-60 minutes-Great for lunch or dinner meetings or a fun break in supervisor meetings / retreats.

Fee: Love Offering at churches. Others contact me for a quote. Travel expenses are negotiable depending on the location. Lodging if required.

Note: “Life Resumé Update” can be designed to fit your group. My favorites are family gatherings, church, agriculture, Human Resources and employee meetings, not in any order.

What is Life Resumé Update?

How many times have we said, “I wish I would’ve”? If you are like millions of us, many, many times. You know why we said this? We had a choice and made the wrong one. What can we do about it? If our choice impacted someone negatively, we can go back and apologize, but other than that you can’t change the past. You can however start today and eliminate the same mistakes and change your future.

The idea of “Life Resumé Update" was born years ago and reemphasized as I wrote my first book “If Your Baby Could Talk…Would You Listen? A Baby's Thoughts On Raising Good Parents." There were many regrets relived as I wrote page after page. But here is the great news! I will do my best not to repeat the same mistakes. In the past I would have been unable to humble myself enough to admit there is a regret or a bad choice. I would have wasted so much time justifying my actions when I could admit it, fix it and move on in half the time.

What can I share with you?

I do not claim to be smarter or even as smart as the next person. In my life I have been blessed with one God, two parents, two grandparents, one spouse, two daughters, two grandchildren, two in-laws and many other friends and family that have updated my life resumé. The thing that may separate me from others is that my last eleven years prior to retirement were spent as the Area Manager of Human Resources. I have been the primary HR contact to a workforce of 900-2100 at various times. To have my "Life Resumé" updated only hourly was a slow day. The only event that has updated my "Life Resumé" to a greater extent has been my ongoing spiritual journey.

"Life Resume Updaté" is a 45-60 minute presentation with real life stories mixed with a few songs that will touch every emotion. For example, I have had many comments from attendees wishing they had heard "the bucket story" years ago. All I can do is agree and wish I had heard it in my twenties. Greg and his grandson's painted stool
Greg Gilbert, guest speaker at the RSVP volunteer recognition luncheon, holds up a stool that was painted by his grandson in a less than perfect way. Gilbert says the stool taught him when to ‘Never miss a good opportunity to Shut Up’ and let the child enjoy painting without being criticized.

The songs and stories will touch a nerve, make you laugh and hopefully make you think of changes you can make in your life.

If you are interested in booking a "Life Resume Update" for your group please go to the "Contact Greg" page and let us know.
